Definition:

Author

Definition:
Either the real person who creates a copyrightable work or the employer, corporate or individual, of a person who creates a copyrightable work within the scope of employment, or in some circumstances, the commissioning party of certain specified types of works.

Know-How

Definition:
Information that enables a person to accomplish a particular task or to operate a particular device or process.

Idea-Expression Dichotomy

Definition:
The fundamental rule of law that copyright does not protect an idea; copyright protects only specific expressions of an idea.

Renewal

Definition:
The extension of a registration of a trademark or the extension of a copyright.

Novelty

Definition:
"One of the three conditions that an invention must meet in order to be patentable. Novelty is present if every element of the claimed invention is not disclosed in a single piece of prior art."

Identify any salient characteristics of the book, e.g., whether it is a later edition or revision of a previous work; and give any other detail which may assist in identifying the literary work in book form.
